EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS AS ONE OF THE MECHANISMS FOR IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF RESEARCH COMPETENCE OF A FORENSIC EXPERT

The current stage of education development is accompanied by an active search for ways to improve the educational environment, increase its efficiency and meet the challenges of our time. Education of the 21st century is not only preparation for professional activity, but also a complex process of forming a personality capable of meeting the challenges of time, living in interaction with the world and contributing to its development. One of the main characteristics of this process is the need to update the educational paradigm, which includes the ideas of self-development, self-realization, self-education and self-education. The educational environment should not only provide knowledge, but also form a competitive personality capable of realizing themselves in a rapidly changing world. The effectiveness of solving complex expert tasks depends on the quality of education and the level of research competence of a forensic expert. At the same time, the ability to continuously learn and adapt to new challenges are important criteria for effective work. The innovations in the field of forensic science, the development of new types of expertise and the globalization of the legal environment require modern forensic experts to be open to new knowledge and international cooperation. High-quality education and a high level of research competencies not only play an important role in improving the efficiency of a forensic expert’s work, but also indirectly contribute to the rule of law, protection of human rights and freedoms, and justice in society. The article examines the scientific approaches to the content of the quality of education and identifies the main problematic issues of improving the quality of education of forensic experts. It is noted that the high level of research competence of a forensic expert depends, inter alia, on the quality of his/her education and the ability to further self-education. The actual role of open educational projects in improving the research competence of forensic experts is emphasized. The importance of adopting European and world experience in the use of educational information technologies and programs that would help improve the quality of education of domestic specialists in the field of forensic science and criminalistics is noted.
