THE FUNCTIONALITY OF ORDERING FORENSIC EXAMINATIONS USING THE INTEGRATED CHATGPT CHATBOT

Abstract

In Ukraine, forensic activities are carried out in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Forensic Examination”, which provides for forensic examination as «research to provide conclusions on issues that are or will be the subject of judicial proceedings» [1, Art. 1]. The same law states that ensuring justice in Ukraine through independent, qualified, and objective expertise should be based on the maximum use of scientific and technical achievements. This means the active introduction of digital technologies and automated systems to optimize forensic examination processes and the ability to integrate the latest information technologies into the professional activities of courts to increase their efficiency. Today, one of the fastest-growing information technologies is artificial intelligence. It allows the development of technological solutions that work on the principle of human intelligence or close to it. In a short time, artificial intelligence has made a breakthrough in various fields of human activity, influencing their development. It has begun to be widely used in the judicial activities of various countries to speed up the consideration of cases, support decision-making, and ensure greater objectivity in the consideration of cases. Chatbots are an important model in the field of artificial intelligence and a powerful tool in terms of capabilities and operating principles. One of the most famous and popular chatbots today is ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI. ChatGPT’s capabilities in searching for information, creating content, automating routine tasks based on automation, personalization, saving time and resources, as well as minimizing errors and the human factor, can significantly accelerate and raise forensic activities, and in particular, forensic examinations, to a new level of quality. The purpose of this article is to consider the functionality of ordering forensic examinations in court cases using the integrated ChatGPT chatbot, which would comply with Ukrainian legislation, in order to speed up its submission.
