Abstract

The article presents the results of a comprehensive linguistic study of propaganda-oriented newspaper publications. It examines the structural-semantic, lexical-stylistic, and pragmatic features of media texts aimed at shaping public opinion. Based on the analysis of a large corpus of texts, typical linguistic markers of propaganda are identified: emotionally charged vocabulary, manipulative speech strategies, implicit evaluations and metaphorical models. The functional load of linguistic means of influence in the context of media discourse is characterised. A methodology for identifying propaganda texts based on linguistic criteria is proposed. The results of the study are of practical importance for the development of media literacy, expert evaluation of information materials, and improvement of mechanisms to counteract information manipulation.
