THE FORENSIC SCIENCE AREA IN THE CONTEXT OF EUROPEAN INTEGRATION

This article provides a detailed analysis of the implementation of European integration tasks within the field of forensic support for justice. Key aspects examined include the alignment of legislation in the field of forensic justice support with EU law (acquis communautaire), the competence of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine in this area, and the main achievements of research institutions for forensic examinations in the implementation of international standards for forensic activities. The study highlights the primary initiatives undertaken by the Department of Forensic Justice Support of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine within the framework of its European integration development vector. The article emphasizes the importance of cooperation and urges research institutions for forensic examinations under the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine to collaborate with foreign forensic institutions. The pivotal role of forensic examinations as a critical area in achieving European integration goals is underscored. The article concludes by proposing key initial steps for the successful implementation of reforms in the field of forensic support for justice, including: updating and aligning legislation with EU requirements, improving organizational procedures for forensic activities, enhancing international cooperation, and more.
