HANDWRITING FEATURES IN SCHIZOPHRENIA: PSYCHONEUROLOGICAL MECHANISMS AND THEIR SIGNIFICANCE FOR FORENSIC HANDWRITING EXAMINATION

The article examines the relationship between mental disorders, in particular schizophrenia, and individual handwriting characteristics of a person, as well as its significance for forensic handwriting examination. Psychoneurological mechanisms that affect graphomotor activity are considered, including disorders of cognitive, motor and regulatory functions. Historical and modern research directions are analyzed, in particular the use of digital and quantitative handwriting analysis to identify characteristic graphomotor changes in patients with mental disorders. It is shown that these changes include a decrease in writing speed, unevenness of movements, increased fragmentation of graphic elements and fluctuations in the pressure of the writing instrument, which reflects a violation of psychomotor regulation. The article emphasizes that graphomotor indicators can act as additional indicators of the mental state and be useful for increasing the objectivity and evidentiary value of forensic handwriting examination. The need for a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach that integrates psychiatric, neuropsychological and forensic methods for assessing the handwriting of individuals with mental disorders is emphasized.
