CONDITIONS AND PROCEDURE FOR ACCEPTING ARTICLES FOR PUBLICATION
IN A SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL «FORENSIC SCIENCE»
The article submitted for publication must be relevant, innovative, contain the formulation of tasks (problems), a description of the main research results obtained by the author, and comply with formatting requirements.
By submitting an article for publication, the author(s) thereby: –express consent to the full text being made available online; – comply with academic integrity guidelines and commit to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), ensuring that the article contains no plagiarism or self-plagiarism.
The author confirms that the article has not been previously published, is not under consideration for publication in other journals, and, if accepted, will not be published elsewhere in the same form in English or any other language.
Technical Requirements
- Formatting:
- Line spacing: 1.5.
- Font: Times New Roman, size 14.
- Page orientation: Portrait.
- Paragraph indent: 1 cm (do not create indentations using spaces).
- Do not use word hyphenation.
- Margins: 2 cm on all sides.
- Length: 8-20 pages.
- Graphic Materials:
- Articles may include graphics (figures, tables).
- Diagrams, figures, and schemes should be editable in WORD (font size 10) or provided as separate .jpg files with a resolution of 300x300 dpi.
- Tables must be numbered with Arabic numerals and referenced in the text in numerical order (e.g., "Table 1").
- Each table must be cited at least once in the text and include a concise title; additional descriptions or secondary information should be provided in the table notes.
- Figures:
- Figures are typically presented at a single-column width (8.4 cm) and must be appropriately formatted.
- Handwritten notes and low-quality computer graphics are not acceptable.
- Files should have a resolution of 600 dpi.
- Figures must be sequentially numbered (Arabic numerals) based on the order of their first mention in the text.
- References:
- Citations should be provided in square brackets, indicating page numbers when applicable. Example: [3, p. 234] or [2, p. 35; 8, p. 234].
- Abstract and Keywords:
- Provide abstracts and keywords in both Ukrainian and English, including translated titles and authors' names.
- The abstract must be at least 1800 characters (with spaces).
- Submit the abstract in the same language as the article first. Automatic translation of the abstract is not allowed.
- Include 5-6 keywords.
Bibliography Formatting
The reference list should be numbered and formatted according to DSTU 8302:2015: "Information and Documentation. Bibliographic References. General Principles and Rules of Compilation." References in English must adhere to the APA (American Psychological Association) style. For Ukrainian sources, the authors' names and initials must be transliterated, the title translated into English, and the publication name written in transliteration (unless an English version exists). Add [in Ukrainian] at the end of the citation. Sources with a DOI must include the DOI in the reference.
Citing or referencing sources published in Russian (in any country) or other languages, if published in Russia or Belarus, is strictly prohibited.
These guidelines ensure the quality, relevance, and integrity of published materials, reflecting high academic and ethical standards.
